There are a number of options available for payment for consultations, including Medicare, private health funds, and private payment.

The rate for a 50-60 minute consultation Is $130. The Medicare rebate is $92.90. leaving a gap payment of $37.10. The Australian Association of Psychologists and the Australian Psychological Society both recommend a $300 fee for 45-60 minutes consultations, however we choose to offer affordable and effective mental health care to our clients. We also offer financial relief in the form of bulk billing to clients with genuine financial hardship, including those with a pension card, health care card, and students, and to everyone from the sixth session on.

Medicare - Mental Health Care Plan

Eligibility for Medicare rebates is determined by your GP and is not income tested. Most common disorders are eligible. These include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, sleep problems, eating disorders, ADHD, sexual disorders, drug and alcohol problems, as well as chronic pain conditions.

Mental Health Care Plans can be completed by arranging a long appointment with a GP, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Private Health Funds
Rebates are claimable from most health funds. Clients will need to discuss with their own health fund the amount they can claim back for each session.

Private Payment

The non-Medicare rate for one hour consultations is $130 per hour.
